Episcopalian’s want Gays to marry in their churches. I used the word “want” rather than “voted” on purpose. Marriage in churches is good business, don’t kid Yourself that this “vote” wasn’t about money. All the other religions are kicking themselves in the ass today because they did not announce their acceptance of gay marriage first.
The denomination’s landmark vote, at the Episcopal General Convention in Salt Lake City, came 12 years after the church made history by electing its first openly gay bishop.
The new ruling was no “break through”, it was just church business and it was a great marketing decision. Whoever was the genius inside the Church hierarchy for bringing this to a vote should be forever remembered. The Church will get many miles of free press on this decision. Weddings are great business for all Churches and this was all about business, nothing more.
